If you’re looking for a zero-emission vehicle sporting Mazda badging and a zoom-zoom attitude, the time has come – the 2022 MX-30 EV is set to arrive this fall at August Mazda. According to the Car Guide, the MX-30 EV will initially only be sold in Quebec and BC, but it will feature the brand’s well-known driving dynamics and eye-catching styling. Mazda fans will feel intrigued as soon as they climb into the driver’s seat. While the centre display is located on top of the dash, the MX-30 EV also includes an innovative floating console between the two front seats. It houses an electronic shifter, a large command knob and shortcut buttons, as well as a seven-inch display for accessing the climate control system. The console also features cork inserts, which pay homage to Mazda’s early history as a cork manufacturing company.
Perfect for city driving, the 2022 MX-30 EV uses a single electric motor and a 35.5 kWh lithium-ion battery that produces 143 hp and 200 lb-ft of torque. On a full charge, the EV can travel a range of 161 km, which is ideal for commuting, running errands or enjoying a night on the town. It also offers a variety of charging solutions, including rapid DC charging using public charging stations.
