This three-row SUV also offers plenty of interior comforts - including features like available second-row captain's chairs - to BC, Canada drivers and their passengers.

The Captain's Chair Option, which includes a heating element, comes on GS-L and higher trims, while these larger second-row seats are standard on Kuro, Signature, and 100th Anniversary models.

While the upgrade provides extra space and additional comforts, the Mazda CX-9 is special because you can enjoy luxury-level amenities on the basic trims, too. For example, you get heated outboard seats with a reclining feature if you have a second-row bench on a GS, GS-L, or GT model. Furthermore, tri-zone climate controls and back vents ensure that even those in the 50/50 split-folding rear remain perfectly comfortable.

If you are interested in the back-seat amenities on the 2021 Mazda CX-9, contact our BC, Canada dealership to discuss available models and schedule a test drive.

These elements help control light, sound, and privacy.

A power moonroof with a built-in sunshade is standard on the CX-9 GT. It comes with solar control glass, one-touch open, and tilt-up ventilation.

Meanwhile, privacy glass ensures that the rear rows are obscured from outside view. The special tinting helps control sunlight and lower heat due to solar gain. Thanks to this feature, passengers are more comfortable and shaded, and the driver can limit air conditioning use and improve fuel economy during the summertime.

Finally, both the windshield and front windows have noise-isolating acoustic glass, which limits road sounds. Though not fully tinted, these elements do include a solar control feature, as well.

To see these high-quality glass features for yourself, contact our BC, Canada dealership today to schedule a test drive in the 2021 Mazda CX-9.

It also offers an array of standard safety features to help you have peace of mind when you transport your loved ones.

The 2021 Mazda CX-9 GS is a base trim, but it has a full menu of passenger protection tools. Sensor-powered systems like Advance Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Path Alert cover anything you might miss when looking in your mirrors.

Other tech tools like Forward Obstruction and Lane Departure Warning add an extra layer of protection. The Mazda CX-9 GS even has a pedestrian detection tool and driver attention alerts to combat distractions.

At the same time, passive systems, like front and side curtain airbags and child-seat anchors, ensure that everyone in the SUV is covered in the unlikely event of a collision.

Despite being a base trim, this model offers an impressive powertrain.

The GS has a standard Skyactiv-G 2.5 T 4-cylinder engine with Dynamic Pressure Turbo (DPT). It offers responsive performance and surprisingly good efficiency for a larger SUV. The Mazda CX-9 delivers 250 horsepower and 320 lb.-ft of torque (when using premium-octane fuel). At the same time, it only uses gas at a rate of 9.1 L/100 km on the highway.

Despite its length, the turbocharged engine and other features make the 2021 Mazda CX-9 GS a fun vehicle to drive. It offers G-Vectoring Control Plus, a torque distribution system using sensors to measure forces on the auto and send power to the wheels that need it.
