Throughout the year, however, there are many official holidays and travelers should know when they occur - both to properly plan their vacations and to be respectful toward important cultural events.

Be aware of major holidays in Costa Rica and plan all trips accordingly. Remember that all charter services, tours and lodgings should be booked in advance to compensate for the crowds.
