Since you love INFINITI vehicles, you’re likely familiar with how they are named. Have you noticed that the models all use a letter (or two) and numbers? It’s a simple way to keep things straight, but do you know why they’re classified this way?
Starting on December 17, 2012, INFINITI began naming its autos this way. The new product nomenclature scheme was designed with a specific purpose--to make it quite clear by its model what type of vehicle it was.
Under this naming system, all sedans and coupes carry a "Q" prefix, while all crossovers and SUVs have a "QX.†Instead of numbers indicating engine displacement after the letters, the two digits used indicate where in the brand's hierarchy the model falls.
The first vehicle to follow this scheme was the Q40, and the rest of the line was later transitioned to the naming convention for the 2014 model year.
Pretty interesting, right? Based on what you’ve learned, you now know that the 2017 INFINITI QX50 is a crossover or SUV. It’s a beautiful vehicle to drive, thanks to heated seats with memory and a universal transceiver for your comfort and convenience. It truly represents the excellence the brand has always intended to showcase.
Hurry in toINFINITI of Tacoma today and take a test drive of the amazing QX50. You’re sure to love it!
