Sometimes, it’s the most basic automobile features that boggle our minds. Take, for instance, power windows. Many of us use them. We understand they are operated via a simple button or switch. This device uses a special level so that the window stays in place and evenly situated while it is raised and lowered. A small electric motor, attached to a gear, is hidden just below this part. These portions of the mechanism provide the torque needed to open and close the aperture.
Power windows cannot be forced open. This is a safety and security feature, first and foremost. The so-called worm gear, attached to the mechanism’s motor, is what keeps the glass from moving downward when the car is off.
