Automobile terminology can be confusing. Welcome to the INFINITI features glossary, where we cut through the murky waters of complex lingo and explain, straight up, what your vehicle has to offer.
Today, we’re talking about the front anti-roll bar. You’ve likely seen this term included on the vast majority of INFINITI feature lists. It may seem like an obvious vehicle component by name, and it does indeed keep the car from flipping. However, there’s much more to the story.
This piece of the automobile, also called by a variety of other names (like the roll bar, anti-sway bar, sway bar, or stabilizer bar) helps to reduce the body movements of a car during fast cornering or when going over road irregularities. The part connects the left and right wheels together through short lever arms linked by a torsion spring.
The purpose of the anti-roll bar is to force the car to raise and lower each side of the vehicle to similar heights. This helps prevent it from tipping over as you drive across uneven terrain.
The 2018 INFINITI QX30 includes a front anti-roll bar to protect you and your passengers from harm during your travels. It also boasts a number of other amazing safety technologies, so you can rest assured you’ll be secure.
