While we may not be floating around in flying cars just yet, Nissan’s luxury brand is creeping ever closer - infusing their vehicles with intuitive autonomous technology. These innovations not only hint at what’s possible, but they also help to inspire confidence in drivers.
Take the 2018 INFINITI Q50, for example. This high-performance sedan can produce up to 400 HP at its top-grade level. With that much power, future-thinking features (such as Predictive Forward Collision Warning)Â are needed to provide an extra layer of security for all occupants.
The system utilizes a radar located behind the front bumper. Through this monitor, it can sense the relative velocity and distance of up to two vehicles directly ahead. It can, therefore, warn the motorist of any possible risks obscured from their field of view.
Say, for instance, a carrier slows suddenly or unexpectedly which disrupts the flow of traffic and triggers a potentially dangerous situation. When detected, PFCW will alert the operator with both audible and visual cues. This warning allows the driver time to respond accordingly, thereby minimizing the risk of incidence.
