Making the switch to an all-electric plug-in vehicle doesn’t need to be difficult. The 2018 Nissan Leaf S drives and rides like a conventional car, but with zero-emissions and no reliance on expensive gasoline. If you’ve been seeking an enviro-friendly vehicle, nothing beats the ease of a Leaf EV.

Powered by a 110-kW AC synchronous electric motor, which is paired a 40-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the 2018 Leaf produces an impressive 147 horses and 236 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with front-wheel drive, it boasts an EPA city/highway fuel economy equivalent of 125/100 mpge, which translates to a range of 151 miles on a full charge.

And speaking of charging, Nissan has made it easier and faster than ever to juice up the Leaf. This model comes equipped with a standard 6.6-kilowatt onboard charger, which is simple and painless to use – if you can plug in a smartphone to charge, you can plug in a Leaf. For faster charging times, an available Quick Charge Port can be added, which can refresh a battery to 80 percent capacity in 40 minutes at fast-charging stations.

The S trim level also delivers great value with a long list of standard tech inclusions, such as Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button Start, a Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, Streaming Audio via Bluetooth, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and a Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant. You can even pre-heat or pre-cool the cabin with the Automatic Temperature Control with HVAC timer, so you are always comfortable when behind the wheel.
