In 1993, Nissan introduced a vehicle that would become a staple in the industry. Just over 25 years later, the 2018 Altima is even more popular than before.
Built in Tennessee, the first model was referred to as the “Stanza†to indicate that it was replacing an already existing automobile. By its third-generation in 2002, it was named the North American Car of the Year. The Altima also sold a record-breaking number of 200,000 for that year.
By 2013, Nissan’s Zero-Gravity seats made their debut. Designed with 14 different pressure points, these chairs were created to maximize blood flow and keep the driver in a neutral position.
Now, the 2018 Altima includes even cooler technology. Bluetooth connectivity enables hands-free calling, and the infotainment interface is displayed on a 5-inch screen. Forward collision warning and automatic braking are standard on all trim levels and help to prevent accidents. There is even a USB port to keep your mobile device charged. For backing out of tight spaces, simply take a peek at the rearview camera. No more fender benders!
