Hey, Kirkland! Interesting fact about the 2018 Nissan Kicksâ€”it had a direct predecessor Indeed, you might consider the Kicks an almost-official â€œspiritual successorâ€ or sequel to the Juke.

Hereâ€™s how it went down: In 2010, Nissan brought the visually interesting, positively spunky Juke to the market. It was a truly compact crossover that was curvaceous and loaded with some of the latest tricks and toys at the time. After a few models, however, it became clear to the Japanese automaker that it wasnâ€™t the ultimate expression of what it wanted to achieve. They thus endeavored to make something greater but cut from a very similar cloth. The result was the bold, attractive, but still wonderfully compact and nimble 2018 Kicks. It boasted a bigger front fascia construction, lowered foglight versus the Juke, and the increasingly popular and signature new Nissan look, the V-Motion grille shape. The bumper is also thinner yet wider.

Of course, the Kicks has some extra pep in its step, too, although its focus is on fuel efficiency. Its 1.6L four-cylinder puts out 125 horses and 115-lb.-ft. of torque, all while easily achieving an EPA-estimated 31 city / 36 highway average MPG. It sports 25.3 cubic feet of cargo area in its standard configuration but can accommodate up to 53.1 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.
