Long gone are the days of only having one kind of transmission. Over the last several decades, engineers have worked tirelessly to create a gearbox that delivers seamless transitions. The 2012 Nissan Juke SL is equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which raises the fuel efficiency of the vehicle.

This belt-driven design offers mechanical simplicity and ease of use. It does not require a clutch and can switch between 10 gears flawlessly. It works best with compact models and was originally developed for snowmobiles and other sport-utility transports.
