These guys don’t communicate with each other.

These guys don’t communicate with each other. We wasted hours at the dealership test driving and getting a contract worked out and at the last minute we were told, “ oh this truck was sold 2 days ago”. We had taken a ferry into the city specifically to purchase this truck. How hard is it for the sales guys to put a sold sign on a vehicle? You would think they would have a bulletin board with inventory sales listed. Unacceptable!

Nissan News
Latest Nissan News For Seattle, Tacoma, And Bellevue Washington
Standard no longer proves a weak word in the automotive dictionary. Instead Kirkland drivers will discover premium convenience when slipping behind the wheel of the 2018 Rogue SL. This Nissan crossover demands no compromises, delivering a bevy of top-tier features (without the high-end trim badging).

As Go Erie explains, the 2018 Rogue SL yields exceptional comfort and support on the highway - introducing drivers to the technologies they’re too often denied.

Exterior

Halogen headlights cut through the night, utilizing automatic on/off precision to accommodate Washington’s fickle weather; while 18-inch alloy wheels glide smoothly over the pavement. The side-view mirrors boast integrated heating functions to ensure maximum lens clarity during chilly mornings; and a power rear lift-gate promises easy access to the platform’s 70 cu.-ft of cargo space (no longer fumble with keys. Instead indulge in push-button convenience).

Interior

Dual-zone climate controls anchor the SL, affording passengers peerless comfort through a configurable multi-vent design. A seven-inch display screen yields access to the Nissan Connect infotainment console (which pairs voice-activated interfacing with Bluetooth links to seamlessly sync with social accounts, smartphone content, and more); and a Bose audio system features nine speakers to render Hi-Fi sound.

The statistics prove staggering - with the number of vehicular heatstroke deaths for children jumping from 5 in 1990 to 43 in 2017. Despite warnings from critics and consumer watch groups, these incidents continue to plague the country; and families suffer tremendous losses from an all too simple mistake.

Nissan wishes to ensure that no child is forgotten - which is why it intends to standardize its Rear Door Alert system by 2022.

According to Value Penguin, Nissan is bringing safety to the Tacoma market - by fusing its entire fleet with advanced notifications. Within the next four years the brand will counter all incidents of heatstroke-related injuries and fatalities, ensuring that parents can instantly identify whether their children are still inside the car before walking away. This system will:

One: Monitor the opening and closing of the rear doors via intuitive sensors.

Two: Recognize if the rear doors aren’t re-opened upon arriving at a destination.

Three: Release a series of audio cues (including digital beeps and horn engagements) to warn drivers of their potential error.

Through this parents will be immediately reminded of precious cargo left in the back-seat - with Nissan’s fleet (including the Sentra, Altima, and Armada) assessing all entry and exit patterns. Safety is assured.

2018 nissan pathfinder for sale in seattle waAs a parent, your attention is pulled in a million different directions. You have deadlines looming at work, forgotten dinner ingredients to pick up at the store, and emails and phone calls to return. Not to mention, your kids have lessons to be shuttled to and from, and your aging parents are hopeful for a visit. Moments of forgetfulness happen, but they can also prove dangerous. Thankfully, Nissan has your family’s safety in mind.

Just the week, the automaker announced that they will be making their Rear Door Alert technology standard equipment on all four-door trucks, sedans and SUV nameplates by 2022. This safety feature is designed to remind drivers to check their back seat for children and pets in an effort to reduce potential heatstroke incidents.

Rear Door Alert works by using a series of distinctive honks as the driver walks away from the vehicle. According to their press release, Nissan is the first automaker to use a beeping horn as an alert for this type of feature.

This smart technology was created by two Nissan employees – Elsa Foley, an industrial engineer and mother of two young children, and Marlene Mendoza, a mechanical engineer and mother of three. "The idea was inspired when I accidentally left a pan of lasagna in the back seat of my car overnight," said Mendoza. "The worst thing was the car smelled for days, but it made me ask myself, 'What if I left something far more important back there?'” Amazing how a simple mistake can lead to the creation of a life-saving safety feature.

Rear Door Alert is currently offered on the 2018 Pathfinder, which is available for purchase now. To experience this technology for yourself, contact our team at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington for a test drive.
The all-new Nissan Leaf NISMO launched in Japan yesterday and industry insiders and EV fans have been buzzing with chatter about the vehicle’s sporty looks and higher performance. It has many hoping to see one on North American soil soon; but, that hope is far-fetched since Nissan doesn’t have plans to roll-out the Leaf NISMO to international markets.

However, the automaker has released more footage of the all-electric supercar, giving fans a closer glimpse at its artful design and on-road performance. Have a look here:

The Leaf NISMO rides on sparkling 18-inch aluminum wheels, which have been custom-designed to limit air resistance, while the characteristic layered double wings improve the vehicle’s downforce without compromising drag coefficient. Inside, slick red accents and a sporty three-spoke steering wheel give the Leaf an athletic feel, along with the custom carbon and chrome finishes on the instrument panel.

Nissan also updated the Leaf NISMO’s ride quality with a custom suspension system, which has been tuned for comfort. An internal computer also allows for stronger acceleration responses, which is supported by an electric power steering system and Intelligent Trace Control for better stabilization while cornering.

Wish you could test drive the Leaf NISMO? We wish you could too. Alas, the closest experience you can get on Seattle ground is the 2018 Leaf. To schedule your test drive, contact our team at Kirkland Nissan today.

Surf’s up, Renton! Grab your board and head for the shore - relying on the 2018 Titan XD to serve as both all-terrain performer and coastal camper.

According to CNET, Nissan has just unveiled its latest XD concept - the SurfCamp. This aftermarket option allows drivers to transform their pick-ups into seasonal powerhouses, delivering a series of custom upgrades. LED lighting flanks each side of the chassis, with strategically-positioned bulbs meant to maximize nighttime illumination (letting the fun continue long after the sun sets). Mounting points are placed along the roofline to accommodate boards and fishing rods alike, while an extendable ladder provides quick storage access. An integrated cargo system defines the bed, enabling easy organization of all neoprene gear; and behind the cab sits a Freespirit Recreation automatic tent, which unfolds to deliver summertime shade. A portable shower pump further delights, letting wave-runners wash away the sand and salt before sliding onto the leather seats.

Craving more than barrel rolls and bottom turns? Bring your boat along for the adventure, utilizing the SurfCamp’s rugged Cummins diesel engine - which yields 310 HP and 555 lb.-ft of torque. When equipped with a Class IV trailer hitch, this ensures up to 11,000 pounds of conventional trailering.

The SurfCamp is the ultimate summer ride. To learn more about this XD option contact our team today!

2018 nissan kicks sr for sale seattle bellevue waWith hatchback convenience too often comes dull style. These boxy beasts are meant to squeeze into unforgiving parking spaces and offer five-door support. They’re not intended to thrill on the highway.

The 2018 Kicks SR will change that.

According to The Baton Rouge Advocate, the Nissan Kicks is no mere hatchback. It’s instead a dynamic highway option that will delight from any angle. It sits on 17-inch aluminum wheels, with all-season tires adding a sporty air. A dark chrome grille is centered between wide automatic headlamps, while fog lights draw attention to the sharp fenders. The power side-view mirrors are capped in a glossy black; and body-colored inserts (available in Gun Metallic, Aspen White, and ten other shades) bring a punch of drama to the bumpers. The doors are trimmed in silver; a spoiler frames the rear; and roof rails showcase the lean five-door shape, which measures 169-inches long, 69-inches wide, and 72-inches high.

To further impress, the 2018 Kicks SR also features LED tail-lights - which yield a bold burst of color at the rear and emphasize the narrow carbon-fiber paneling. Every line of this platform is dynamic.

Are you itching to be the first of your neighbors to have an all-new 2019 Nissan Altima in your driveway? Well, good news! You can now secure one of the first next-gen sedans since Nissan has opened reservations for the 2019 Altima.

For the average consumer, it might seem strange for an automotive manufacturer to offer reservations for a mass-produced car, like the Altima. After all, this process is usually reserved for limited-model runs. But, the 2019 Altima is special. For years, it has remained one of Nissan’s best-selling vehicles with annual sales in the hundreds of thousands. It certainly has a loyal following of consumers who choose this sedan each time they find themselves wandering a car lot.

What’s more, the 2019 Altima offers a few firsts. Most notably, it’s the world's first variable compression turbo engine with an all-wheel drivetrain, which has never been available on a Nissan sedan in the United States until now. Then there's Nissan Intelligent Mobility with ProPilot Assist, which is an advanced single-lane hands-on driving assistance technology only found on the automaker’s all-electric Leaf and the Rogue crossover.

Nissan is also swaying buyers with complimentary at-home tech. For a limited time, Altima reservation holders will receive a choice of an Amazon Echo Show with an Amazon Prime membership, a Bose Soundlink Revolve+ plus an Amazon Echo Dot and Amazon Prime membership, or a Series 3 Apple Watch. Meanwhile, Altima Edition One reservation holders will receive a choice of an Amazon Echo Spot, Bose Soundlink Revolve plus Amazon Echo Dot, or wireless Apple AirPod headphones.

Ready to make your reservation for the next-gen 2019 Altima? If so, contact our team at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington, for details.
Japan's street racing scene is one of the most illustrious in the world. And now, a police team in Tochigi Prefecture is taking a unique step forward by adding a Nissan GT-R to their fleet. Donated by a local man, the police are now using the legendary street racer to fight crime at high speeds.

To be distinguished as a cop car, the GT-R is equipped with red flashing lights on the roof of the fast-moving vehicle and LED strobes on the bumper. It also sports the police unit’s black and white paint to match the rest of the patrol fleet. With a cruiser that can go from 0-60 miles per hour in just 2.7 seconds, criminals all over Tochigi Prefecture better be on high alert. With 565 horses under the hood, they won’t have much hope of escaping this cruiser.

Funnily enough, there is also a hometown connection here. According to The Drive, the factory where the GT-R has been built since 2007 is located in Tochigi Prefecture. Talk about a natural fit!

Could you imagine looking into your rearview mirror and seeing a GT-R with flashing lights barrelling your way? It certainly would be one exhilarating ride back to the police station.

2018 nissan leaf for sale in seattle waEarlier this year, we shared a story about a Polish traveler named Arkady Paweł Fiedler, who took a Nissan Leaf on a first-ever EV expedition across Africa. The trip was documented as part of the Electric Explorer African Challenge 2018 with photography by Albert Wójtowicz, who joined Fiedler on his trip.

Just this week, Nissan shared another story of a globetrotting Leaf EV. This time, Polish adventurer, Marek Kamiński, recently completed a two-month journey in the plug-in vehicle, driving 13,000 kilometers from Poland to Dongfeng Nissan's Intelligent Mobility Experience Center in Beijing. He made stops through Kaliningrad, Lithuania, Russia and Siberia, Mongolia, China, and South Korea.

Kamiński's project, known as the No Trace Expedition, was created as a way to bring awareness to electric vehicles and how they are well-designed to travel long distances beyond their traditional urban confines. As an environmentalist, the adventurer’s project also highlighted the benefits of all-electric powertrains and their positive effects on the earth.

The 2018 Leaf’s extended range of 150 miles made it easier for Kamiński to complete his passage, along with the vehicle’s latest tech, like ProPILOT Assist, which is an advanced autonomous driver assist feature.

"I've been using ProPILOT on new Nissan Leaf, and it worked perfectly under all kinds of driving conditions during the expedition," said Kamiński in the press release. "The Nissan ProPILOT is energy-saving for long-distance driving. Of course, I still prefer to drive on my own, so I only activate the Nissan ProPILOT when I need some rest."

Where will the Leaf travel to next? Anywhere is possible! If you’d like to hit the open road in the world’s best-selling EV, contact our team at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington, for a test drive.
