Kirkland Nissan will soon change that.

This hatchback - which recently debuted at the Hawaii Auto Show - has made its way across the Pacific… and onto our lot. Join us as we embrace the next generation of electric performance.

Kirkland Nissan is proud to serve as the official host for the 2018 LEAF. We are the first (and only) dealership in the United States to have this platform on-site; and we’ll soon unveil it to our customers!

Come to our lot on January 1st - from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - and discover exceptional EV capability. The 2018 LEAF has been tailored for efficiency, fusing a 40-kWH lithium-ion battery with an AC synchronous motor. These two work in seamless tandem to deliver a zero-emission driving experience. The exclusive e-pedal system maximizes regenerative braking and speed in equal measure, while an advanced electric powertrain yields 100% off-the-line torque. This ensures a responsive ride, with Nissan’s signature hatchback adapting to both highway thrills and downtown demands.

The future of mobility has arrived - and we’re the first to have it! Join our team as we ring in the new year with EV performance.

Great news, Seattle EV enthusiasts! On Monday, Nissan announced that the 2018 Leaf will be arriving at North American dealerships in January.

The second-generation Leaf is currently in production at Nissan’s expansive assembly plant in Smyrna, Tennessee – one of three locations globally that will build the vehicle, along with the Oppama plant in Yokosuka, Japan, and a factory in Sunderland, England. The Smyrna facility currently produces five other models, including the Nissan Altima, Maxima, Pathfinder and Rogue, as well as the Infiniti QX60.

The Nissan Leaf has been in production at the Smyrna assembly plant since 2013, with more than 114,550 vehicles sold in the United States since 2011. The team couldn’t be more excited to see 2018 model roll off their production line. Watch them beam with pride in this video:

For 2018, the Leaf will incorporate new technology that will make this second-generation vehicle drive farther, better and smarter than ever before. It features available ProPILOT Assist technology, which helps motorists navigate stop-and-go traffic by assisting control of acceleration, braking and steering during single-lane highway driving. The 2018 Leaf also offers an increased range (up to 150 miles) and incorporates standard Nissan Intelligent Mobility features, such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and e-Pedal technology.

With a starting price of $29,9901, the all-new Leaf is sure to be a hit with Seattle area EV aficionados. To pre-book your test drive, contact us at Kirkland Nissan today.
The all-new, zero-emission Leaf is making its China debut this week at the 15th annual Guangzhou Auto Show. It will be on display along with Nissan’s Vmotion 2.0 concept car and the Venucia T70 – a brand that is part of Nissan’s joint venture with Chinese company Dongfeng Venucia Motor Co.

The new Leaf recently premiered in Japan to much excitement from automotive and EV enthusiasts alike. It offers a greater range (150 miles), advanced driver assist technologies and a cutting-edge design – all of which enhance the Leaf’s overall enjoyment, connectivity and performance. The Leaf also comes standard with ProPILOT autonomous driving technology, ProPILOT Park and e-Pedal.

Nissan recently brought the EV to Seattle, Washington to give curious fans a closer look. Here’s Tom Voelk from Driven Car Reviews with a preview of the world's most talked about electric car:

To date, the Nissan Leaf is already the best-selling EV in the world with 300,000 units sold worldwide in 49 countries. The 2018 model is currently available in Japan, but is expected to arrive on North American soil in early 2018.

The 2018 Nissan Leaf hasn’t even hit North American roads, but that’s not stopping the EV from raking up accolades and honors. It was recently named a contender for Motor Trend’s Car of the Year, which is an annual award given by the magazine to acknowledge the best new or significantly refreshed cars.

The 2018 Leaf was recognized for its attractive aerodynamic design, superb semi-autonomous driving option, and amazing pricing, as well as its 150-mile range from the 40-kW-hr battery.

This includes one of the Leaf’s newest features called ProPILOT Assist. According to Nissan, this technology relieves driver workload by reducing the amount of driver acceleration, steering, and braking input under certain conditions. Then there is e-Pedal – another innovative technology that lets drivers start, accelerate, decelerate and stop by increasing or decreasing the pressure applied to the accelerator. When the accelerator is fully released, regenerative and friction brakes are applied automatically, bringing the Leaf to a complete stop.

Smart mobility proved the driving force of the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) - with critics offering generous acclaim to sustainable performance and plug-in capabilities. The future, they declared, is no longer reserved for traditional engines. Instead hybrid technology will define every mile.

It comes as no surprise, therefore, that Nissan’s latest Leaf secured the show’s highest honor.

According to Hybrid Cars, the 2018 Leaf was recently given an impressive trophy for its case - earning CES recognition as the Best of Innovation for Vehicle Intelligence and Self-Driving Technology. This achievement (which serves as Nissan’s first international award) was given with great enthusiasm, with critics celebrating several key EV features:

Drive-Range: anchored by a 40-kWh lithium-ion battery, the new Leaf boasts a 150-mile all-electric capability. This allows consumers to effortlessly navigate the demands of every day, sparing them constant visits to the charging station.

Fast Connections: utilizing an advanced 240-volt port system, this Nissan sedan can achieve a charge of 88 miles in less than thirty minutes.

The e-Pedal: this exclusive function allows drivers to seamlessly enhance or decrease their speed, requiring only a single foot pedal to control performance.

These features ensure powerful responses, optimizing the 2018 Leaf for work, play, and every moment between.
