You might be under the impression that if you purchase a fully electric vehicle you need to live next to a power plant. That simply is not the case with the 2016 Nissan Leaf S. This environmentally-friendly car has a driving range of 107 miles! That’s plenty of juice for urban life in Seattle.
Drawing energy from a 24 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the 80-kW motor produces 107 hp and 187 lb-ft of torque. At the end of the day, you can replenish the EV system in approximately 8 hours using the 3.6 kW onboard cable. As a hatchback, this model offers 24 cubic feet of cargo space in the back. You can load up groceries or luggage for a weekend getaway with ease.
The base S trim level includes 16-inch steel wheels and heated side mirrors that will come in handy during the winter months. The cabin boasts cloth upholstery with a height-adjustable driver’s seat. The rearview camera and NissanConnect interface are both displayed on a 5-in monitor. Bluetooth connectivity enables hands-free calling, and you can charge your mobile device using the USB port provided.Â
