If it’s time to upgrade your daily carpooler with something a bit more spacious, consider the vehicle that Edmunds gave top marks for interior room and cargo capacity. The 2017 Nissan Sentra S might be compact on the exterior, but the cabin is uncommonly spacious with a rear seat that rivals many midsize models in terms of head- and legroom.Â
Â
From bumper-to-bumper, the 2017 Sentra measures 182.1 inches with a height of 58.9 inches. Dimensions of this nature make for a tidy, small sedan, but if good maneuverability is important to you, you’ll appreciate the car’s tight 34.8-foot turning circle – no match for cramped garages or city streets.Â
Â
Inside the cabin, the Sentra offers comfortable accommodations for up to five, including a six-way manual driver’s seat and a four-way manual passenger’s seat. Leg- and headroom in the front is plentiful with 42.5 inches and 39.4 inches, respectively, while the back seat can easily fit a six-foot-tall adult with 37.4 inches of legroom. Cargo capacity with all seats in place rings in at 15.1 cubic feet, which is nearly as much cargo of other full-size sedans. Folding down one or both sections of the 60/40-split rear seatbacks expands the trunk’s capacity further, which is great for those moments when you have larger items to carry.
