According to a review by Edmunds, the 2018 Nissan Versa 1.6 S is the perfect commercial vehicle for Uber or Lyft drivers because of its spacious trunk, roomy back seat and fuel-efficient powertrain. Best of all, with its entry-level purchase price, this preowned subcompact sedan is affordable to own and keep on the road.
Â
Powering the 2018 Versa is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine for a total of 109 horsepower and 107 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a five-speed manual transmission, this commuter is incredibly thrifty, earning 27 mpg city and 36 mpg highway – great if your livelihood is shuttling ride-share passengers across Seattle. On the road, the sedan’s ride is soft and cushioned with a suspension that soaks up bumps extremely well.
Â
The big story with the Versa is its surprisingly spacious cabin that offers ample rear seat space with 37 inches of leg and 36.6 inches of head room. Around back, the trunk is cavernous with 14.9 cubic feet of volume to swallow up luggage, groceries or other personal items. Standard features on the S trim also include 15-inch steel wheels and power mirrors, as well as Bluetooth phone connectivity and a four-speaker sound system with a CD player and an auxiliary audio jack.
