Safety above everything. That’s what Nissan took to heart when designing the 2017 Nissan Rogue S. It’s a family car that takes the security of its passengers seriously, and as such, it’s won commendations from consumers and critics far and wide.
Side-impact curtain and dual-stage front supplemental inflatables lead the safety charge here as part of the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS). It provides rollover and occupant classification sensors for automatic deployment in the event of a crash. Smart! Moreover, the blind spot warning lets operators know whenever another vehicle is coming up on them by issuing an audible beep. Rear Cross Traffic Alert does the same whenever you put the car into reverse.
These different safety measures mean wonderful things for the Rogue’s ability to stand up to scrutiny. The IIHS has awarded the crossover its highest score of “Good†in the following categories: small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, head restraints and seats. Further, it nabbed a “Superior†mark for its ability to prevent front crashes.
