With rumors swirling about an all-new Nissan Z sports car, we thought we would turn your attention to the 2016 370Z Base. This is a great preowned option for buyers who want a taste of the Z’s athletic performance before deciding to upgrade to the 400Z, which should be available for purchase in 2020.
Â
The 2016 370Z Base is bolstered by a zesty 332-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine, which makes 270 lb-ft of torque. It comes mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission with an EPA city/highway rating of 19/26 mpg, but a six-speed manual transmission is also available. This variant fetches slightly lower fuel economy than its automatic counterpart with an EPA city/highway rating of 18/26 mpg, but the spirited feel you get from the stick shift certainly makes up for it.Â
Â
Â
Along with its big performance, the 2016 370Z Base also sports a feisty exterior, which boasts a wide track, low center of gravity and fluid silhouette, along with a muscular-looking cantilevered roof and 18-inch wheels. Its stance is aggressive and confident, which is as instantly recognizable today as it was in 1970, when the Z was first released.
Â
However, despite this vehicle’s heritage, it certainly knows how to keep up with the times. Inside, the 2016 370Z Base comes equipped with Bluetooth capabilities, a four-speaker audio system with auxiliary input and steering wheel controls, keyless entry and remote start, and automatic climate controls.
