According to Wards Auto, the 2019 Altima was designed to impress. Beneath its hood growls a 2.0L four-cylinder engine - which shares the same turbocharged design as the INFINITI QX50. This potent option yields 248 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque, utilizing a premium multi-link connecting rod system to maximize every combustion. Piston stroke ratios smoothly rev from 88.9-mm to 90.1-mm, with a reduction gear creating a seamless ignition sequence; while the 8:1 compression rate promises exceptional power (it features a 1,190 CC to 1,1997 CC displacement that allows the car to stabilize the performance-band with each acceleration).

With the introduction of the variable-compression engine Nissan brings dynamic responses to Bellevue. As Wards Auto explains, this powerpoint heightens torque generation by 22 lb.-ft; and it allows the Altima to achieve a 0 to 60 run of less than seven seconds (shaving off more than 1.8 seconds of total time from the 2018 version).
