With the release of the 2021 TRX, Ram sought to claim the turbocharged crown - trying to take an honour that has belonged to the F-150 Raptor for years through pure V8 force. The gauntlet was thrown; the challenge was made; and Alberta critics wondered how Ford would respond.

They didnâ€™t have to wonder long.

According to The Drive, Ford is planning to launch a new F-150 Raptor later this year - and this platform will serve as a direct competitor to the TRX. Anchored by a rumoured 5.2L V8, this truck will yield supercharged performance in Canada, generating up to 760 HP (compare this to Ramâ€™s current 702 HP). The class-leading 10-speed automatic transmission is anticipated; but critics believe that a revised suspension will also accompany this F-Series model, utilizing a four-corner coil configuration to maximize stability.

Additionally, 37-inch all-terrain tires are expected - with Ford poised to dominate trails and the competition alike with wide-tread ease. The Drive believes that this choice is particularly relevant, enabling the 2022 Raptor to surpass the Ramâ€™s own 35-inch options.
