According to AutoBlog, the new F-150 will soon unveil its Onboard Scales feature. Sensors will be mounted into the bed, automatically calculating every pound. They will then feed the information into the SYNC 4 media console (as well as the FordPass app), allowing drivers to keep track of their payloads with greater efficiency. Additionally, LED light-bars will be integrated into the rear tail-lamps. These will engage when extra cargo is added - delivering a four-position scale that will raise or lower in relation to the total amount of weight. If the truckâ€™s capacity is exceeded, these bulbsÂ will blink rapidly so that adjustments can be made.

Through this, drivers can take advantage of the F-150â€™s available payload performance of 2,238 pounds - without pushing the truck beyond its limits. This assures a safer cargo experience, and it enables superior control.Â
