Though these components can bring additional power, some are not authentic. Cars may have a single pipe for airflow, but use a Y-split near the back bumper to make it appear like it has two.

Legitimate dual exhaust systems allow the engine to breathe better by letting the gasses out of the cylinders faster, which, in turn, speeds up the combustion cycle. The auto typically has a catalytic converter and wider-than-normal tailpipes to prevent pressure from building up in any part of the powertrain. This helps to maximize performance and maintain a consistent power-band.

A well-engineered dual exhaust system can increase both efficiency and horsepower. Performance vehicles like the Dodge Challenger and Charger offer this type of feature; but, more unexpectedly, you can also find it on premium trims of some sedans, including the Chrysler 300. These rides are no longer intended solely for everyday commutes. They instead promise exceptional outputs, branding them ideal for work and play alike.

To find out which cars, SUVs, and trucks have the best dual exhaust systems, contact our Calgary, AB dealership today - and don't forget to schedule a test-drive in one of our available Dodge or Chrysler models as well.
<a href="https://renfrewchrysler.com/car-service-calgary-ab/"><img src="/images/upload/May_2021/calgary_service_centre.jpg"alt="Two hands turning a wrench on the battery of a car"/></a>Synthetic oil uses an artificial blend of chemicals to achieve the same lubricative properties as regular crude. The mixture usually includes altered petroleum products and other raw ingredients to optimize vehicle performance - something that proves crucial for those on Alberta work-sites. If their new RAM trucks fail to deliver seamless power, then all operations could be interrupted.

Here is why the synthetic option can be better than the regular variety for your next oil change - and why 1500, 2500, and 3500 drivers may find it invaluable on the job.

It doesn’t need to be changed as frequently.

You need to replace standard motor oil every 5,000-8,000 km (on average). This is because the lubricative properties break down, and the liquid can turn into sludge. Synthetic options, however, are resistant to this process, so they can last for 10,000-15,000 km - or even longer - without harming your engine.

Regular oil breaks down easily at higher temperatures.

If you leave your engine running (such as on a job site) or drive in warm conditions, synthetic lubrication will continue working, but crude could stop providing protection.

Synthetic products can also improve performance because of their superior lubricative properties. When it is time for an oil change, contact our Calgary service centre to discuss your options.

You can find the recommended readings for your truck in pounds per square inch (PSI) in your owner’s manual. Typically, these are on the inside of the driver’s door or on stickers in your glove compartment; and they help you understand the precise ratios you should follow to achieve a smooth ride.

Furthermore, RAM trucks are equipped with tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), which will alert you if the PSI is too high or low.

Here is why proper inflation is vital.

Better Performance

Maintaining your tires at the correct pressure improves their performance and makes them last longer. Under-inflated wheels can decrease power and make control more difficult.

Increased Safety

Improperly inflated tires may provide inadequate or uneven grip, making both brakes and steering dangerously slow to respond.

Better Fuel Economy

Maintaining optimal pressure is one of the easiest ways to improve fuel economy. An under or over-inflated tire has greater rolling resistance, which can reduce your efficiency by up to 5%.

For an inspection of your current tires or information about a new set contact our Calgary service centre today. Don't hesitate to schedule a test-drive in one of our available RAM trucks as well.
<a href="https://renfrewchrysler.com/inventory#/?&orderBy=5&asc=1&t=0&filter=[New%2CJeep%2CGrand%20Cherokee%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C%2C]"><img src="/images/upload/April-2021/jeep_grand_cherokee_airbags.jpg"alt="X-ray view of airbag system on 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee"/></a>Side airbags are designed to protect passengers during perpendicular collisions and rollovers. These safety elements are common in most modern vehicles, including SUVs (like the new Jeep Grand Cherokee) and luxury sedans (such as the 2021 Chrysler 300).

There are two categories: chest protectors and curtain units. The former, also known as torso airbags, deploy from the door or the seat. They protect the body during a collision, helping to reduce overall impact friction.

Side curtain airbags are found along the ceiling of the vehicle and open across the windows, protecting the heads of all outboard passengers. These cover the first, second, and (if applicable) third-row seats.

Because there is less buffer space on the side of the vehicle, these airbags deploy three times faster than those in the front. They also stay inflated for longer to protect passengers in the event of a rollover. Through these innovations they help to ensure safer experiences on the highways and trails alike, lessening the force of a collision.

To learn more about the airbag coverage on new vehicles (such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300), contact our Calgary dealership today. Don't hesitate to request a demonstration of other key safety features as well.

One is in the front and the other in the rear - affording wide-angle perspectives and increasing visibility on the Calgary trails.

The Wrangler's forward-facing unit, also known as the TrailCam, shows what is directly ahead of the vehicle. The image is displayed on the Uconnect touchscreen and features dynamic tire-path lines superimposed on top of the video feed. This view is for off-road conditions and allows the driver to see obstacles - such as boulders - in real time. The tool is available on models with 8.4-inch touchscreens and will prove crucial when traversing rough roads.

The rear camera, known as the ParkView function, offers a wide-angle picture of the area behind the new Wrangler. The image is displayed on the Uconnect touchscreen, with dynamic gridlines to help guide the vehicle as the driver attempts to back into a parking space. It affords seamless navigation in tight corners.

To see these unique tools in action yourself, contact our Calgary dealership to schedule a test drive in the new 2021 Jeep Wrangler. We will gladly provide a demonstration of the TrailCam and ParkView systems, as well as highlight additional safety features.

They are especially relevant on family autos, such as the new Chrysler Pacifica and Grand Caravan - providing peace of mind to Alberta parents.

When engaged, these features prevent passengers (especially curious young children) from interacting with the lock from the inside, whether the auto is in motion or stationary. This assures a safer driving experience for all.

While most vehicles offer these child safety devices, each model has a different way of engaging them. Some rely on a switch on the edge of the door. You can find this by opening it and looking along the side for a lever with a sign above it saying on-off or lock-unlock.

Other autos instead have electronic controls on the steering wheel, the driver's door, or a different location in the front. If the child lock switch isn't immediately visible, you can find it by referencing the manufacturer's manual.

To learn more about the safety features of family vehicles like the Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Pacifica, contact our Calgary dealership today. Don't hesitate to request a test-drive in one of our new mini-van models as well.

How Can Calgary Drivers Know If They Have Transmission Problems?

Tags:

2021 dodge charger for sale in calgary abTransmission problems are among the most expensive and stressful vehicle issues. They can also be dangerous since a failure can cause unexpected stopping or loss of control on the road.

If you want to avoid these situations, here are three common symptoms to look for:

Leaking

If you notice a red fluid with a sweet smell under your vehicle, you most likely have a transmission leak. You will need to take your auto to a Calgary service centre for an inspection.

Noises or Shaking

Noises are also a common indicator of transmission problems. If you hear or feel shaking or grinding, or if the gears are completely unresponsive when you try to change them, you should likewise seek the help of a professional.

A Burning Smell

A burning smell during driving, especially if you have a low engine temperature, often indicates ineffective transmission fluid and the need for a system flush.

If you suspect any of these issues, contact our Calgary service centre for an appointment today.
2021 jeep wrangler for sale in calgary abDirty or diminished brake fluid will reduce stopping efficiency, which could lead to dangerous situations on the road.

How does this issue arise? The heat from the pads can cause the liquid to lose its lubricative properties, or debris can contaminate it, leading to abrasions or corrosion.

Changing the brake fluid and cleaning the system can ensure that your car will retain its stopping capabilities. When should you ask your service centre technician to check for an issue? First, your owner’s manual will offer maintenance recommendations for flushing and replacing the lubricant. Different makes and models have suggested schedules, ranging from two to five years or 30,000 to 40,000 km.

A more efficient option is to check the brake system during regularly scheduled maintenance at your favourite Calgary service centre. The advantage of this approach is that the technician can usually spot low or contaminated fluid before it causes a problem.

2021 chrysler 300 for sale in calgary ab4x4 vehicles are a necessity for many motorists in Calgary. Whether traveling during winter or off the pavement, AWD can provide the right amount of grip and traction. When conditions are good, however, front or rear-wheel drive is sufficient.

Some AWD cars and trucks have a transfer case that disconnects the front or rear axle when 4x4 mode is unnecessary. These autos either allow the driver to switch manually or change automatically if the vehicle's sensors detect stable surface conditions.

For example, the AWD Chrysler 300 disconnects the front axle so that drivers can enjoy performance-oriented RWD if they choose. The Jeep Cherokee, on the other hand, disengages the rear wheels to offer FWD.

In addition to giving drivers more options, these systems help increase fuel efficiency. For instance, the Chrysler 300's V6 gets a class-leading 7.8 L/100 km on the highway when it's in RWD mode.

2021 chrysler pacifica for sale in calgary abElectric and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) need outlets to charge successfully. If you purchase one of these autos, such as the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica, what should you expect when it comes to replenishing the battery?

Some drivers will be able to take care of all their needs using a Level 1 charger. With this option, you can plug your PHEV into a standard 120-volt home electrical outlet. The drawback is that you have to connect the battery overnight.

Level 2 chargers use a 240-volt outlet. These decrease the empty-to-full time to about two hours for hybrids. Mopar offers this type of product as an add-on for Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, and Jeep EVs and PHEVs.

Public high-speed units can cut the process to 25 minutes or less. However, these are impractical for home use.

To find out about charging systems or to inquire about PHEVs available near you, contact our Calgary dealership today.
