With the launch of the 2022 Dodge Challenger, Alberta drivers achieve more than power from its full range of engine options, including a 717-hp supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 on the SRT Hellcat. Performance is also optimized with this sport sedan’s suspension system, which – unlike the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro – delivers exceptional stability.
Underneath the 2022 Challenger’s athletic body is a short and long arm (SLA) front suspension, which has vertical upper and lower control arms which boost the negative camber. With this system, the muscle car achieves exceptional balance since more tire surface has contact with the road. The SLA front suspension also ensures consistent wheel alignment, allowing the Challenger to handle with precision, even under strenuous conditions.
The 2022 Chevy Camaro, on the other hand, comes equipped with a MacPherson strut suspension with dual lower ball joints and monotube struts. Due to the suspension’s lengthy vertical assembly, the system doesn’t provide similar road contact for the tires like the Challenger’s SLA front suspension. The result is compromised cornering and less stable performance – and when choosing a sport sedan, nimble performance certainly matters.
