At Stratos we take on any size, shape or form of Boat Accident repair. Grounding, collision repairs, or loose keel nut restoration.

Repairs are, usually determined by the type of keel construction. If the issue is the external lead keel and the damage is just limited to the lead without the joint having been affected repairs are “typically” minor. If the keel is cast iron, and the damage is a scraped area, the repairs are pretty much superficial. Internal ballast (inside a laminated hull) will require replacing the laminate.

Sail Boats

If the keel joint has been affected this damage is more extensive and the repair work more complex, usually requiring lifting of the hull off the keel in order to reseal the joint and re tighten the nuts and rods. This will necessitate strengthening the damaged areas prior to re-attaching the keel. If the boat has grid structures in the keel cavity these areas may also need attention. 

Powerboats

Most times grounding a power boat results in damage to its running gear and laminate structures. In these cases the running gear will require removal and repair to shafts, props, etc.. With general fibreglass repairs needed.
