CASIS

Previous Industry Canada Minister Tony Clement & Dale Finch announce CASIS
The WCABA is very proud and supportive of the CASIS agreement. Some key industry people working with both automotive manufacturing and sales associations along with Minister Tony Clement, the staff at Industry Canada and supported by the Competition Bureau worked diligently to write an agreement that worked for all stakeholders and laws in Canada.

It cannot be emphasized enough the CASIS agreement allows for any mechanical, collision or glass repair shop in Canada to have the opportunity to repair any vehicle. There is no barrier to service information; factory OE special tools or the factory software downloads.

The CASIS agreement in Canada is complete. It is up to industry to become aware, to take advantage of and seize this opportunity.

CASIS was the first agreement worldwide that all auto manufactures agreed to. It is most important that industry is informed, is knowledgeable and completely aware of the opportunity of the CASIS agreement. Please make sure you visit the NATA Canada website often to be kept up to date on CASIS information. It can be found at www.natacanada.ca

In the second phase of NATA’s work, they have announced a separate information path for trusted Vehicle Security Professionals and Automotive Repairs Shops. Information regarding this opportunity can be found at www.vehiclesecurityprofessional.ca

As a member of the automotive community it is again, vitally important, that you are informed on all opportunities, that you may wish to take advantage of and provide consumers with the choices they deserve. No shop owner should ever again say…. I can’t fix that vehicle because I cannot get service information.

Thank you to the National Automotive Trades Association for representing and having the foresight for the automotive aftermarket on this initiative!!
