2020 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Races Down Vancouver’s Roads

It’s a slick and sexy coupe—a car that makes it self-evident that it puts a premium on good looks. However, there’s much more to the Spider than exterior beauty. Turns out, it’s a powerhouse on the roads and a seriously dynamic machine.

This coupe delivers in a big way thanks to a 1.7L I-4 engine that produces 237 horses at 6,000 revolutions per minute (RPM) and 285 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,200 RPM. There’s no shortage of power here, and the rear-wheel drive ensures you feel it down every straightaway and through every corner. And as you’re whipping around Vancouver’s streets, you’ll be able to treat yourself to a fine day via the removable sunroof.

Horsepower and torque are just part of the equation, however. The 2020 4C Spider comes packed with the Alfa DNA system, which lets you select different car response modes in accordance with your driving style via the center console. Dynamic Mode awards the driver with sportier driving, increases pedal sensitivity, and enhances stability. Race Mode offers a more extreme version of Dynamic Mode that increases traction through curves and further bolsters pedal sensitivity. It also deactivates electronic stability control and anti-slip regulation. Natural Mode boosts driving comfort and offers standard responses from both the engine and transmission. Finally, All Weather Mode, as you’d expect, increases traction in inclement weather conditions.Â
