What Canadian shoppers ask

The questions RZ shoppers bring to the showroom.

Drawn from 653 RZ comments posted since 2023 on the MotorMouth YouTube channel. Question themes sit apart from verified vehicle facts and help prepare a more useful test drive.

01

How far will it go on a charge?

Hybrid and electric topics come up in 236 comments, more than any other theme, and range is the most common concern. The 2026 update adds a larger 76.96 kWh battery and longer estimated range on every model. Natural Resources Canada estimates, as quoted on lexus.ca, are 478 km (297 mi) for the RZ 350e, 418 km (260 mi) for the RZ 450e AWD Signature, 415 km (258 mi) for the Luxury and Executive on 20-inch wheels and 369 km (229 mi) for the RZ 550e F SPORT, in ideal conditions. One viewer wrote after the 2026 review: "I have wanted to like the RZ since Lexus first came out with it, but it really sounds like they upgraded the range from pathetically inadequate to merely inadequate."

Take this to your test drive

Work out your longest regular drive and add a winter margin, since range drops in the cold and on 20-inch wheels.

02

Which RZ should I choose?

Engine and power come up in 34 comments. The RZ 350e is front-wheel drive with up to 224 hp and the longest estimated range. The RZ 450e AWD has up to 313 hp and Lexus DIRECT4 all-wheel drive in Signature, Luxury and Executive grades. The new RZ 550e AWD F SPORT has higher-output front and rear motors with up to 402 hp and is the first Lexus with M Mode, which simulates manual shifting with paddles, according to Lexus Canada.

Take this to your test drive

Drive the RZ 350e and an all-wheel-drive RZ back to back, and decide whether you want the extra power and grip or the extra range.

03

What does it cost?

Price and value come up in 91 comments. Lexus Canada lists the 2026 RZ from $59,990 for the RZ 350e Signature to $82,960 for the RZ 450e AWD Executive, with the RZ 450e AWD Signature at $66,990, the Luxury at $72,990 and the RZ 550e AWD F SPORT at $77,990. Lexus Canada's estimated vehicle price for the RZ 350e Signature is $63,390, including freight, PDI, the A/C charge and maximum dealer and other fees, before taxes and licence. Lexus Canada has not published 2027 RZ pricing yet.

Take this to your test drive

Ask for the all-in price with freight and fees in writing, and ask which EV rebates, if any, apply when you buy.

04

How fast does it charge?

For 2026 the RZ switches to a North American Charging System (NACS) port and gets an 11 kW on-board charger that supports Level 1 and Level 2 charging. DC fast charging from 10 to 80% takes around 30 minutes in ideal conditions, according to Lexus Canada, which has not published the peak DC charging power. One viewer asked: "Now that the RZ has NACS charging, that or Tesla y for a long road trip?"

Take this to your test drive

Ask which public chargers near you the RZ can use and whether an adapter is needed, and price a home Level 2 charger before you buy.

05

What changed for 2026?

The 2026 RZ gets a new battery, redesigned eAxles and updated cooling, a refined DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system, the NACS port and 11 kW charger, longer estimated range, a Dynamic Sky panoramic roof that shades better when opaque, and added structural rigidity with a new rear brace. The RZ 350e is the first front-wheel-drive RZ in Canada, and the RZ 550e F SPORT is new, according to Lexus Canada. One viewer wrote after the 2026 review: "It is great that more sound insulation and other improvements make the RZ quieter inside, and the “manual mode” rev and shift sound effects is probably something I’d rarely use."

Take this to your test drive

If you looked at an earlier RZ, drive the 2026 on the same roads and listen for the difference in cabin noise.

06

Does the design stand out?

Styling comes up in 154 comments. The RZ 450e AWD Luxury and Executive ride on 20-inch wheels, and the RZ 550e F SPORT adds its own styling, 20-inch wheels with blue brake calipers, black Ultrasuede with blue stitching and an F SPORT steering wheel and pedals, according to Lexus Canada. A 2026 RZ owner wrote: "I went with the Lexus RZ 2026 450e premium model. Two weeks in and love it."

Take this to your test drive

See the RZ in daylight in the colour you want, and compare the F SPORT with a Luxury or Executive side by side.

07

What tech comes with it?

Interior and tech come up in 58 comments. Every RZ has a 14-inch Lexus Interface touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, dual-zone climate, ambient lighting and Lexus Safety System+ 3.0. The Luxury adds a Panoramic View Monitor, digital rear-view mirror and digital key, and the Executive adds a head-up display, 13-speaker Mark Levinson audio, the dimming Dynamic Sky roof and Advanced Park, according to Lexus Canada. The RZ 350e Signature also has a 1,500-watt AC outlet.

Pair your phone on the test drive, and check which grade brings the features you want most, such as the head-up display or the dimming roof.

08

Is it ready for a Canadian winter?

Winter driving and all-wheel drive come up in 26 comments, and several viewers point out that the RZ has no rear wiper. The RZ 450e AWD and RZ 550e F SPORT have Lexus DIRECT4 all-wheel drive, while the RZ 350e is front-wheel drive. The Signature grades come with a heated steering wheel and heated and ventilated front seats, and the Executive and F SPORT add heated rear seats, according to Lexus Canada. Range estimates are for about 20 to 30 °C and drop in the cold. One viewer wrote: "Huge mistake not having a rear wiper."

Take this to your test drive

Check rear visibility in wet weather if you can, ask about cold-weather range, and budget for winter tires.
