Drawn from 54 Z comments posted since 2023 on the MotorMouth YouTube channel. Question themes sit apart from verified vehicle facts and help prepare a more useful test drive.

01

What does it cost?

Price and value come up in 16 comments. The 2027 Z starts at $49,998 for the Sport, $1,000 less than the previous model year according to Nissan Canada, with the Performance at $62,998 and the NISMO at $76,998. For some viewers it is the clear pick at its price: "For the money I think I'd get the new Nissan Z."

Take this to your test drive

Ask for the all-in price with freight and fees, and compare the Sport and Performance equipment line by line.

02

How much power does it make?

Engine and power come up in 14 comments. Every Z uses a 3.0 L twin-turbo V6 driving the rear wheels: 400 hp and 350 lb-ft in the Sport and Performance, and 420 hp and 384 lb-ft in the NISMO.

Take this to your test drive

Drive the Sport and the NISMO back to back if you can, and notice where the extra 20 hp and the NISMO tuning show up.

03

Manual or automatic?

For 2027 every trim can be ordered with a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic at the same price, according to Nissan Canada. The NISMO manual is new, with a shorter shift lever ratio and an upgraded clutch.

Take this to your test drive

Try both transmissions on the same route, including stop-and-go traffic, before you choose.

04

Which trim should I choose?

The Sport gets a new Z badge and a body-colour bar across the grille. The Performance adds redesigned forged 19-inch wheels and larger shock absorbers, and offers Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic with a Super Black roof. The NISMO adds 20 hp and lighter two-piece brake rotors derived from the GT-R. NISMO owners are happy with the choice: "I bought the 2024 Nismo Z and I love it."

Take this to your test drive

Decide how often you will drive it hard, then ask the dealer to walk you through what each step up adds.

05

Does the design stand out?

Styling is discussed in 13 Z comments, and colour choice gets attention too. One viewer wrote: "The new Z looks great in black, white, and gray, but it's nice to see yellow, red, and blue available too, great job Nissan."

Take this to your test drive

See it in daylight, in the colour you want, before you decide.

06

Can I live with it every day?

The Z seats two. For 2027 the Performance is newly offered with tan upholstery, according to Nissan Canada.

Take this to your test drive

Bring your usual weekly load, such as a gym bag or groceries, and check how it fits in the trunk.

07

Can I drive it in winter?

Winter driving comes up in 5 comments. The Z is rear-wheel drive, so tires make the biggest difference in a Canadian winter.

Take this to your test drive

Ask the dealer for a price on a set of winter tires and wheels for the trim you want, and where to store the summer set.

08

What fuel does it use?

Nissan Canada recommends premium fuel. Natural Resources Canada rates the 2026 Z with the manual at 13.4 L/100 km (18 mpg US) city, 10.0 L/100 km (24 mpg US) highway and 11.9 L/100 km (20 mpg US) combined, and with the automatic at 10.6 L/100 km (22 mpg US) combined.

Take this to your test drive

Ask for the fuel ratings of the exact trim and transmission you want, and budget for premium fuel.
