Hauling lots of cargo across BC might be taxing to most trucks, but not the 2021 Ram 3500. Its high-strength steel frame and diesel engine can accommodate up to 6,910 lb (3,134 kg) in its bed – or a maximum of 7,680 lb (3,484 kg) with a gas motor. Dual rear-wheel models also feature an enhanced rear suspension, courtesy of auxiliary leaf springs with higher rates to smooth out every drive.
Because heavy loads require pickups to work hard, the Ram 3500 has an Active Air Intake system installed. A class-exclusive, this function responds to the environment and driving conditions from the engine controller to adjust ventilation as required. In hot weather, it brings in a breeze from below the truck; while in wet or messy conditions, it’s drawn from an under-hood port to make every trip efficient across BC.
