The Cummins 6.7L High Output engine – only available on the 2021 Ram 3500 – is certainly powerful; but drivers in Langley will also appreciate its durability and build quality.
This engine is made of Compacted Graphite Iron (CGI), which allows a weight reduction of nearly 60 lbs while also increasing cylinder pressure. A higher-strength alloy crankshaft in the centre of this motor has a 10-bolt flange with newly-designed forged connecting rods and bearings for better power transfer from the low-friction ring-wrapped pistons, too.
A redesigned cast-iron cylinder head now contains high-temp suitable exhaust valves that are driven by new hydraulic lash adjusters, which removes the requirement for valvetrain adjustment during servicing. Plus, a better fuel delivery system is installed, boasting a 29,000 psi (2,000 bar) pump and rail with Cummins Filtration NanoNet technology to keep everything clean during BC drives.
