Costa Rica’s fish, despite their impressive sizes and powerful forms, are delicate. Their scales are easily ruined by overzealous anglers, and their fins can snag on barbed hooks and metal wires.

Never dangle a fish by its jaw.
Never pull a fish on-deck with just a line. Use a net instead to avoid damage.
