Along the Los Suenos coastline are schools of Permits. These fish, with their forked tails and golden scales, prove impossible to miss. They meander along the surf zone, using their elongated fins to push through the water.
Permits are often ignored by first-time anglers. Experienced casters, however, know that they can provide a challenge, due to their balanced sporting quality profiles.
Strength
The Permit is a large fish, reaching up to 48 inches and averaging over 35 pounds. It requires medium-grade tackle.
Speed
The Permit is a sprinter, tending to strike with quick bursts of speed. It can average up to 30 miles per hour when trying to attack its prey.
Movements
The Permit is famed for its incredibly sharp teeth. It will use these to gnaw at fishing lines, rather than flailing in the water. Expect short, jerky motions.
The Permit is an aggressive fish. Capturing it requires the appropriate tackle, as well as thick gloves to protect hands from any rouge bites.
