The Snook is an unforgettable breed. Its tapered head, lean body and striped scales make it easy to spot and fun to catch. It often serves as an introduction to fishing in Los Suenos, and first-time anglers are never disappointed when they reel one in.
Before casting any line, however, the proper bait must be chosen.
Live Bait
The Snook prefers to hunt fish smaller than itself. Choosing Shrimp, Sardines, Pilchards and similar breeds will yield the best results. Fresh bait is always preferable but frozen Mullets will also suffice.
Artificial Bait
The Snook responds to color and movement. Choose bucktail jigs, spoons and mirror plugs to catch its attention. Be certain that these all feature sturdy constructions since this fish will attack them vigorously.
