The Black Marlin is a prize for any angler. Its speed, strength and aggression make it a challenge to catch, and trying to reel one in can demand countless hours and endless patience.
The Black Marlin, like most breeds, responds best to live bait. Its powerful bite, however, can turn solid foods into chum, scattering them across the sea. Use sturdy breeds like Squids or Skipjacks. These will last longer and will keep Marlins centered near the ship.
Artificial Bait
The Black Marlin prefers fresh fish. Artificial options will suffice, however, when necessary and can be used to great effect while trolling. Choose large-skirted lures and hybrid skooners for best results, and be certain that these are attached to durable monofilaments.
