If you are a daredevil who has a need for speed, head over to the Gig Harbor Wings & Wheels event on June 30th and July 1st at the Tacoma Narrows Airport in University Place, Washington. Dozens of airplanes will be on static display and over 200 cars will be shown on Sunday. You can also watch multiple live aerial acrobatic performances and fly-overs throughout both days. Food vendors and a beer garden will be available, and there will even be activities to keep the kids busy. Tickets range from $10 - $50.
If you are looking for a family-friendly event to celebrate the summer solstice, head over to Midsommarfest on June 24th at St. Edward State Park in Kenmore, Washington. Hosted by Skandia Folkdance Society, this event begins at 11 AM and concludes at 6 PM. Experience Nordic food, music, and dance all day long! At 2:30 costumed performers will raise a garlanded 45-foot pole as a symbol for the beginning of the season. Admission is free.
If you are the type of person who likes to think outside the box, you may enjoy spending your time strolling through the Oddmall Emporium of the Weird. This strange arts and crafts show is being held on June 2nd & 3rd at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe. Showcasing uniqueness, imagination, and creativity, this event will feature over 100 unusual artists. Admission is free for all. There will even be a Fairy Hollow that offers face paintings and custom character pieces.
