Just five short years ago, INFINITI introduced the world to Direct Adaptive Steeringâ€”one of the first significant precursors to autonomous driving. Now, this advanced steer-by-wire system is in its second-generation and available in the 2018 INFINITI Q60.

DAS functions without the use of mechanics. Using an electronic control unit, it is able to instantaneously deliver inputs from the operator's cues directly to the wheels, and vice versa. Because of its digital interface, the ECU can make up to 1,000 adjustments per second so that the quality of the ride is unaffected by kickbacks or forced movement.
