The 2019 INFINITI QX50 is many things. It's a class-defying crossover, a host for the world’s first production-ready compression ratio engine, and the most advanced carrier to ever hit Washington’s roads. So, it should come as no surprise then, that on top of all that, it is also as aerodynamic as a sports utility vehicle can be.
As a key to the CUV's refined design, engineers placed particular focus on streamlining the exterior. The result is a six percent improvement on the drag coefficient over previous generation models. It currently earns 0.32 in the Cd department, which is significantly lower than even many performance cars.
This impressive stat can be attributed, in part, to the sleek body shape. A clamshell hood that flows effortlessly into the slanted A-pillars and an enclosed undercarriage encourage effective airflow over, around, and under the QX50 with minimal turbulence. Meanwhile, the bumpers and wheel arches were intentionally created to feature multiple slits that serve as inlets and outlets that assist in the efficient movement of currents through the vehicle openings.

While most people are still caught up in what’s under the hood of the 2019 INFINITI QX50 (which is incredible, by the way), we also happen to think there are plenty more impressive qualities worth writing home about — not the least of which are the many advanced safety innovations.
Equipped with the latest and greatest in driver-assistance technologies, this impressive crossover is confidence-inspiring. Designed to complement and enhance the operator’s own natural abilities, the suite of security features are another step towards autonomous driving.
For starters, Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection utilizes sensors on the front of the vehicle to monitor conditions ahead. If a potential incident is predicted, the intelligent system will automatically apply pressure to the dampers in order to avoid a frontal collision.
Meanwhile, Lane Departure Warning and Prevention uses radars on the QX50’s undercarriage to monitor markings on the pavement. It can, therefore, alert the motorist if they start to drift out of their lane. In severe cases, the internal CPU will intervene if necessary, redirecting the vehicle back into its rightful path.

The 2019 INFINITI QX50 is here, and it is definitely worth all the hype it has been receiving. Delivering the world’s first production-ready compression ratio engine to Washington roads, this impressive crossover offers a winning combination of sportscar prowess and eco-friendly efficiency.
Thanks to over 20 years of research and innovation, the 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine is able to consistently transform pressure ratios from 8:1 (for performance) to 14:1 (for economy). The result is seamless responses to varying road conditions and driver inputs.
According to The Car Connection, “wrapped in luxury crossover clothes, the 2.0-liter turbo-4 under the hood is a remarkable achievement for its frugality and ingenuity.†Capable of producing up to 268 HP, operators can enjoy uncompromising athletic ability. The advanced multi-link system lowers the variables to allow for greater energy and torque, without knocking.
Alternatively, raising the quotients provides environmentally-savvy advantages. The QX50 manages to net a 30% improvement in fuel-economy from previous generations, earning 24 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway for a combined rating of 27 MPG.

Forget flipping a coin over who has to brave the weather outside to start the vehicle. The 2019 INFINITI QX50 offers an innovative Remote Engine Ignition System that will ensure every moment of your journey is as comfortable as it ought to be.
Using your Intelligent Key, you can easily power up your QX50 from the comfort of your couch with the single push of a button. The IK boasts an impressive operating range of approximately 200 feet.
Working in conjunction with Climate Control, you can also assure that your ride is ready for you from the second you open the door.Â
Â
When you take home the all-new QX50, you never again have to worry about climbing into a freezing cold cabin where you can see your own breath, or, on the other end of the spectrum, conquer the dreadfully hot and sticky leather seats in the summertime heat. Instead, you can command multiple functions straight from your smart fob, and voila! The ICC will kick-in for up to 10 minutes to prepare an optimal environment based on your settings.

Between the world’s first production-ready VC-Turbo engine and powerfully elegant exterior styling cues, It’s hard to imagine how the 2019 INFINITI QX50 could get any better. However, those who believe in the age-old adage, “it’s what on the inside that counts,†won’t be disappointed by this sleek and sporty CUV’s state of the art interior.
Featuring an impressive selection of purposefully chosen and carefully balanced materials, the cabin of this crossover creates a calming and comfortable environment for all occupants. Using the highest quality of premium leather, the seats receive tailored stitching that evokes a sense of craftsmanship not often found in utility vehicles. Open-pore wood accents perfectly complement flashes of aluminum to elevate the overall luxurious feeling.
To further impress, the asymmetric layout of the cockpit is both driver-centric and passenger-minded. The internal space of the QX50 was intentionally designed to place essential dials, buttons, and switches in ergonomically available locations for the operator — negating the need for a co-pilot. However, when there is indeed a front-seat passenger riding along, the thoughtful positioning provides said traveler with 28.4 and 39.6 inches of knee and leg room, respectively.

Dreadful morning commutes may be a thing of the past with the 2019 INFINITI QX50. Thanks to a number of innovative driver assistant technologies, your daily route is about to get a whole lot easier — and, who knows, you might even come to enjoy it!
For starters, Intelligent Cruise takes all the pain (and the annoying lurching) out of stop-and-go traffic. Utilizing a combination of radars and sensors on the outer body of the CUV, the system will monitor and detect the velocities of surrounding vehicles — specifically, those ahead. Without any additional inputs from the operator, the smart CPU can instantaneously adjust your pre-sets to adapt to a full range of speeds. In particular high-density situations, the ICC will even bring the QX50 to a complete stop if need be.
To further impress, a Distance Control Feature can work separately or in conjunction with other modes. This setting allows the motorist to select a favored metric of length between themselves and other cars on the road. To maintain the informed preference, the QX50 will intuitively release the acceleration pedal or automatically apply pressure to the brakes. Â

As if you needed any more reasons to check out the 2019 INFINITI QX50, it is made available with an optional Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system that propels it to next-level performance. Consumers who choose to upgrade the already sporty crossover with AWD mechanics will experience enhanced handling and elevated security.
Offering all-season safety, the innovative drivetrain is confidence-inspiring in all conditions. The smart program continually monitors variables such as traction levels and wheel spin. Under good circumstances, the vehicle steadily maintains FWD efficiency by defaulting the power to the forward two tires. However, in less than optimal driving situations — or when a loss of friction is detected — the CPU will intuitively redirect the torque with a 50:50 front-to-rear split in order to regain adequate connection to the pavement.
To further impress, the Vehicle Dynamics Control operation also includes Active Brake Limited Slip — a feature that enables independent and isolated delivery of pressure-damping based on whichever unit has the most grip at any given time. This effectively reduces the incidence of slipping, sliding, and skidding — offering all passengers more peace of mind when traveling in inclement weather.
