In today’s luxury automotive world, technology is just as important as high-end amenities. Innovative features for vehicles have evolved quickly over the past decade, increasing consumer demand and expectations. INFINITI established its reputation as a top premium brand and will further their notoriety with the introduction of a new infotainment system scheduled to debut in models such as the QX50 by 2021.
The 2019 INFINITI QX50 is no stranger to innovation. After being outfitted with the world’s first production version VC-Turbo engine, this compact crossover is slated to receive the brand’s updated infotainment system as soon as it becomes available. According to a recent announcement from the VP of product strategy, Francois Bancon, it could arrive as early as 2021.
This next-generation system is expected to nix most of the switches, knobs, and buttons featured on center console configurations across the current lineup. Bancon anticipates that the dual-screen setup used in today’s models will be replaced by a single tablet-like display.
While we will have to wait to see the updated system in action, INFINITI said it will incorporate Android Auto and Apple CarPlay into its lineup starting next year. In the meantime, stop by to take the 2019 QX50 for a test drive.
