Avengers: Infinity War is slated to hit theaters here in Seattle on April 26 and fans of the American superhero genre are giddy with anticipation. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney, the nineteenth film in this epic series features a new cast member that our dealership can’t wait to see on the big screen.
According to Matthew Mueller of Comicbook.com, the all-new 2019 QX50 is expected to be “... A prominent factor at some point during the film.†The director, Joe Russo gave an interview with Entertainment Weekly where he described the movie’s “90’s heist genre component,†which is sure to have us on edge when the redesigned INFINITI crossover is on the screen.
It’s not surprising that Marvel would include the all-new QX50 in its latest cinematic thrill ride. Equipped with the world’s first production-ready Variable Compression Turbo engine (which we detailed in an earlier post), the SUV delivers sports car performance (268 HP and 280 lb.-ft. of torque) with eco-minded efficiency (24 MPG city, 31 MPG highway). The motor is bolted to the cylinder head through plasma-transferred wire arc liners, which reduce lag and spool-up time.
We also can’t help but surmise that the 2019 QX50 will show off its suite of driver technologies on the big screen at the end of the month. The brand’s ProPILOT system gives the vehicle semi-autonomous (superhero?) abilities through Forward Emergency Braking, Steering Assist, Advanced Intelligent CC, and Distance Control. We imagine the premium crossover dodging doom all on its own - and we can’t wait to see if we are right.
Stay tuned for more information on the QX50’s Hollywood debut and, in the meantime, stop by to take it for a test drive.Â

In today’s luxury automotive world, technology is just as important as high-end amenities. Innovative features for vehicles have evolved quickly over the past decade, increasing consumer demand and expectations. INFINITI established its reputation as a top premium brand and will further their notoriety with the introduction of a new infotainment system scheduled to debut in models such as the QX50 by 2021.
The 2019 INFINITI QX50 is no stranger to innovation. After being outfitted with the world’s first production version VC-Turbo engine, this compact crossover is slated to receive the brand’s updated infotainment system as soon as it becomes available. According to a recent announcement from the VP of product strategy, Francois Bancon, it could arrive as early as 2021.
This next-generation system is expected to nix most of the switches, knobs, and buttons featured on center console configurations across the current lineup. Bancon anticipates that the dual-screen setup used in today’s models will be replaced by a single tablet-like display.
While we will have to wait to see the updated system in action, INFINITI said it will incorporate Android Auto and Apple CarPlay into its lineup starting next year. In the meantime, stop by to take the 2019 QX50 for a test drive.

The Boston Marathon is the oldest continuously run event of its kind in the world. On April 16, athletes from around the globe will arrive in the historic east coast city to participate in the annual race. In anticipation for its 122nd year, the B.A.A. announced a long-term sponsorship agreement with INFINITI.
On top of this larger announcement, the 2019 QX50 was also named the official vehicle of the 2018 Boston Marathon. INFINITI’s newest premium crossover was chosen to guide runners along the 26.2-mile course due to its athletic exterior appearance and race-worthy performance.
The outside of the new QX50 is a stunning reflection of the premium brand’s latest design language. An open honeycomb grille delivers a welcoming first impression before the aggressively sculpted hood is noticed by onlookers. A staunch ground clearance (8.6-inches) combines with a generous track width (74.9-inches) for a low, yet commanding on-road presence.
As visually appealing as this crossover is, the most impressive part of the 2019 QX50 lies just out of sight. Under its hood sits the world’s first mass-produced VC-Turbo engine. The 2.0-liter variable compression motor can change how it operates (for increased efficiency or power) based on driver intentions. Making 268 HP (less than the 2018 version’s 325) and 280 lb.-ft. of torque, this high-end performer manages to net a 30-percent improvement in fuel economy stats (now 24 MPG city and 31 highway) compared to its predecessor (17/24).
As runners prepare for the 2018 Boston Marathon later this month, you can take home your very own version of the event’s official vehicle - the 2019 INFINITI QX50.

The INFINITI QX50 has just arrived - but it's already making a big impression. This luxury crossover recently snagged the spotlight at the 45th annual Twin Cities Auto Show, stunning critics with its world-first technologies and aggressive design.Â
The premium compact SUV boasts much more than the luxury brand’s newest design language. Two decades of INFINITI engineering has resulted in the world’s first variable compression (VC) engine, which has subsequently made its debut beneath the hood of the 2019 QX50. This class-exclusive motor changes its compression ratio via a seamless and intelligent multi-link system. Occurring in less than one second, the piston contracts to a 14:1 ratio for improved efficiency before extending its reach to 8:1 for enhanced performance.
Intuitive in design and deed, the multi-link VC-Turbo responds according to driver behavior. Aggressive throttling, for example, will result in a full-retraction of the system, while a steady mix of normal input will return constant variations of the compression ratio.
Experience this world-first technology by visiting our showroom and taking the 2019 INFINITI QX50 for a test drive.
