Tacoma, let’s enjoy food, fun, and drinks together at the “Taste of Tacoma” celebration on June 21 - 23, 2019 at Point Defiance Park.

Taste of Tacoma presented by BECU is billed as the “Ultimate Summer Get Together” and offers a total of 40+ restaurants and specialty food vendors. Further, there are more than 70 live bands, various artisan wares, cooking demonstrations and chef battles, a craft wine and beer tasting, beer gardens, a family fun zone, and more. Admission is FREE and there’s also a complimentary shuttle bus running from Tacoma Community College.

Looking for something to do this upcoming Memorial Day Weekend? If you don’t yet have set plans, consider attending the Memorial Day Ceremony at Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park on May 25 beginning at 11 a.m.

This Memorial Day, the Museum of Flight is dedicating their Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park. The ceremonies will include a color guard presentation, pinning ceremony for Vietnam veterans at the dedication ceremony/grand opening, and aircraft fly-overs. Admission to the museum will be free for all veterans on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (just bring your ID; veterans may also bring one adult and any children 16 or younger). A musical performance by the Boeing Employee Concert Band will also be featured.

If you’re searching for something to do this upcoming March, why not plan a weekend getaway to Port Townsend?

Located on the Olympic Peninsula, Port Townsend is a haven for artists and outside-the-box thinkers. It’s also picturesque and historic, acting as a Victorian seaport with gorgeous architecture. There’s plenty to do and enjoy, including an awesome collection of eclectic shops that include galleries and locally-made jewelry (remember, there are a ton of artisans here). The local pub, Sirens, offers regional musicians performing bluegrass, rock, county, and more. Make sure you enjoy the local fare, including items such as free-range eggs, goat cheeses, and freshly caught salmon at the various eateries in the town. And feel free to wash it all down at Propolis and Port Townsend Brewing—there’s plenty of locally brewed craft beer. (Note: While Port Townsend is less than a two-hour journey, taking the Edmonds — Kingston ferry is required.)
