The 2018 Leaf is anchored by a 110-kW AC synchronous electric motor with front-wheel drive, which produces 147 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. The 40-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which is tucked in nicely under the cabin floor, has been enhanced and now boasts a 150-mile range, allowing the Leaf to travel longer distances than previously. When itâ€™s time to top up the battery, the standard 6.6-kW onboard charger will need about 40 minutes to re-charge to 80 percent (when using a 50-kW CHAdeMO DC fast charger). Long periods of downtime are now a thing of the past!

The SV trim is also chock full of high-tech equipment for even more comfort, convenience and protection on Seattleâ€™s roads. This includes Traffic-Aware Cruise Control, which automatically senses vehicles in front of you and adjusts cruising speeds with the right amount of acceleration or deceleration. Nissanâ€™s ProPILOT is also standard and uses autonomous driving technologies, which help to keep the Leaf centered and on-course.Â
