Are you in the market for a mid-range, all-electric car, but are concerned about range limitations? Allow the 2016 Nissan Leaf SV to quell your apprehensions. This trim level has been bolstered with even more battery power, permitting it to travel 107 miles (versus the base level’s 84 miles), while also offering faster charging.
Â
The 2016 Leaf SV is anchored by an 80-kW electric motor that produces 107 horsepower and 187 lb-ft of torque. Instead of using traditional gasoline, it is powered by a larger 30-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which allows the Leaf to go farther than the base level’s 24-kWh lithium-ion battery.Â
Â
Charging on the SV trim is quicker too, only taking about five hours. However, if you opt for the Fast Charge Receptacle, you can refresh a depleted battery to 80 percent in merely 30 minutes when using a CHAdeMO public charging station. Best of all, this model comes equipped with a standard NissanConnect telematics system, which lets you monitor your charging status remotely.Â
Â
The SV trim also offers many nice-to-have features, above and beyond the base level inclusions. On this model, you’ll enjoy larger 17-inch alloy wheels on the exterior, as well as an upgraded 7-inch display, six-speaker stereo system and navigation.
