Great news, Seattle! A longer-range Nissan Leaf is slated for release later this spring! Dubbed the Leaf e+, the all-electric plug-in vehicle will be able to travel 226 miles on a single charge (up from the current 150 miles) with its larger 62 kWh battery pack and higher output powertrain.
Â
Â
Available in S PLUS, SV PLUS and SL PLUS, the Leaf will generate 214 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque from the 160-kW electric motor. The charging equipment on this model has also been revised to include a new 70 kW Quick Charge System, which won’t require any additional time over the current model, even with the 55-percent more battery storage capacity.Â
Â
Nissan revamped the e-Pedal system, as well, to account for the Leaf e+'s greater mass. The system will improve refinement and pedal modulation in reverse, and offer more regenerative braking overall, allowing drivers to stop more effectively using only the e-Pedal.
Â
Around front, the e+ also sports a front fascia with blue highlights, while “Plus†badging accentuates the rear. Inside, the infotainment will be updated to include a larger 8-inch display and new software.

More details will be released about the e+ in the near future. To learn more, contact our team at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington, for a preliminary spec review.
