Electric vehicles are all the rage, and for good reason—they’re amazing! Machines like Nissan’s award-winning, best-selling LEAF are EVs that offer sensational efficiency as well as a bounty of other advantages. And today, we’re here to tell you all about the incredible 2016 S version.
This machine runs off a 24-kWh battery pack combined with an 80-kW electric motor. They combine to create a total of 107 horses and 187 lb-ft of torque. Don’t worry about range—this car can go 84 miles on a single charge. When it comes time to charge up, the LEAF’s 3.3 kW charger and 240-volt power source combine to enable charging from empty to full in only eight hours. There’s relatively little downtime here!
The 2016 Nissan LEAF S is roomier than you might expect from such a seemingly compact vehicle. While it’s certainly nimble on the road, it still gifts passengers with 41.2 inches of headroom in the front and rear legroom of a generous 33.3 inches. Also, the rearview camera’s feed is displayed on the five-inch center console touchscreen, while heated front seats are a welcome dose of comfort.
