Gone are the days of the truck-like Pathfinder. Instead, this new generation features the approachability of the ever-popular crossover design. As Kelley Blue Book reveals, the 2016 Pathfinder S particularly straddles the worlds of performance and sensibility perfectly.Â
Firstly, there is plenty of power here—don’t let the new curvy, unassuming and aerodynamic look fool you. The 3.5L V6 engine is still a beast, producing 260 horses and 240-lb.-ft. of torque. The Xtronic two-speed continuously variable transmission makes the driving experience super smooth through eliminating fixed gear ratios. Also, mileage is great—you’ll receive an estimated 27 MPG highway / 20 city.
Storage within the Pathfinder S is plentiful. When all seats are up, you’ll receive 16 cubic feet of space. However, with the back row down that number balloons to 47.8 cubic feet, and with everything folded you’ll receive an impressive maximum cargo area of 79.8 cubic feet. This means that whether you’re stocking groceries after a run to the store or packing for a lengthy family camping trip, you’ll always be ready for what the situation calls for.
