Nissan’s Frontier line of pickups has always been hale and hearty. However, as “The Fast Lane with Joe Tunney†YouTube channel reveals, the PRO-4X, in particular, is a model that combines rough and tumble performance with great utility.
Let’s talk power. The PRO-4X sports an upgraded engine that pushes the Frontier to its performance apex. The 4.0L V6 motor generates 261 HP at 5,600 revolutions per minute (RPM) and 281-lb.-ft. torque at 4,000 RPM. This is paired with a transmission that bucks the norm—a six-speed manual that grants great control over the vehicle. As far as fuel efficiency goes, you won’t be disappointed, either. There’s a very respectable EPA-estimated 22 highway MPG.
A truck doesn’t have much utility unless it’s appropriately spacious, but fortunately, this isn’t an issue for the Frontier. There are crew and king cab configurations that seat five and four individuals, respectively. The latter option provides an excellent 87.7 cubic feet of storage, while the former offers a sensational 101.1 cubic feet of cargo room.
