The 2015 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X is an old-school mid-size pickup that’s all about getting stuff done. It’s tough, capable, and enhanced by a number of technologies that work to make it a wonderful utility vehicle. “Christian Moe†has the verdict in his video walkthrough below.
There are many systems that make this Frontier special, but we’ll focus on several that enable the truck to easily handle off-road conditions. Naturally, four-wheel drive is available here, but there’s so much more, including Hill Start Assist. This system operates in the background. Whenever you’re stopped on an incline and release the brake, it holds the truck in place for several seconds, ensuring that rear rolling doesn’t occur. This happens regardless of whether you’re currently set in 2WD or 4WD modes.
There’s also a brake-based limited slip system, which is standard on all Frontiers including the PRO-4X. It manages the transfer of torque between wheels. Additionally, electronic locking rear differential is offered. When the driver engages it via the center stack button, it equally distributes power between each rear tire. Smart!
