Did you know that here at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, we have the largest LEAF inventory in Washington State? It’s true! The all-electric vehicle is not only a favorite of ours but a top pick among consumers, too. Best of all, the S trim has been updated for the 2017 model year. As consumer reviews channel “Auto Trader†discusses below, it’s a wonderful compact car packed with tech.
The 2016 LEAF’s engine was overhauled and these varied improvements have all made their way over to the 2017 S trim. Electricity is stored in a 30 kWh, 360-volt lithium-ion battery that supplies power to the 80 kW AC synchronous engine. This motor is peppy, propelling the car along with 107 horses and 187-lb.-ft. of torque.
Charging the battery is a breeze. The LEAF S is stocked with a 3.6 kW onboard charger. When used in conjunction with a 220-volt outlet, the vehicle can be fully topped off in only seven hours. Under this scenario, Nissan’s wonder machine easily travels 107 miles before requiring any extra juice.
