Wow—the Nissan Titan has received some serious plaudits. The 2017 model year fares particularly well in this regard, nabbing a host of awards from a generous number of respected publications and bodies.
Nissan was quick to tout the many awards the 2017 Titan racked up over the previous months—and rightfully so. The pickup (which includes S, SL, SV, Pro-4X, and Platinum Reserve variants) received the following:
Best Pick-Up Truck (MotorWeek)
Extreme Off-Road Champion (The Active Lifestyle Vehicle Awards)
Full-Size Truck Of The Year (The Texas Auto Writers Association)
2017 Pick-Up Of The Year (Truck Trend)
Commercial Vehicle Of The Year (The Texas Auto Writers Association)
The reason for all the honors comes largely down to the Titan’s sterling performance. Its 5.6L Endurance V8 engine produces a wild 390 horses. Its class-exclusive tow/haul system enables trailering of as much as 9,740 pounds. Four-wheel drive makes the backroads of Seattle, Renton, and Bellevue seem somehow tame. And mileage is solid at up to 21 MPG on the highway.
