In the world of all-electric vehicles, our choices are becoming more robust as automakers release newer, more high-tech models each year. However, one brand remains cemented near the top of the pack and that’s Nissan.
Since unveiling the 2011 Leaf, the plug-in has gone on to be the world’s best-selling EV. Consumers choose this model time and time again for its incredible standard features, performance and range – and you can too. Allow us to introduce you to the 2016 Nissan Leaf SV.
Â
Unlike its gas-counterparts, the 2016 Leaf is anchored by an 80-kW electric motor that is fed by a 30-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which produces 107 horsepower and 187 lb-ft of torque. Combined, this allows the EV to travel a full 107 miles without a single drop of fuel. Instead, battery power is the name of the game – just plug in, charge and go!
Â
Speaking of charging, the SV trim is equipped with a 6.6 kW onboard charger, which takes about five hours to fully juice up. If you are like most nine-to-fivers, this is adequate since the Leaf can recharge while you work. Best of all, you can monitor the battery status using the standard Nissan Connect EV telematics system.
Â
Other inclusions on the SV trim also feature a 7-inch central touchscreen with navigation and a backup camera to help with tricky parking lot maneuvers. For your comfort all year long, the Leaf is equipped with air conditioning, heated front seats and a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, plus the power sideview mirrors are heated too. Â
